My piece titled “Buggy Eyed” represents the chronic headaches that I myself deal with on a daily to weekly basis. In this piece, she herself has had a headache so severe, she has clawed her own eyes out to relieve the pressure she feels. In doing so, blinding herself to the truth of what's really going on, and staying in her fantasy world. I made the whole piece smooth to represent her innocence. I used colors to make her appear disheveled and exhausted. I covered her eye sockets and eyeballs in vaseline to make the blood shine and look fresh. The hair, septum, and makeup was all a stylistic choice. The piece as a whole I am insanely proud of. I wish I could redo the painting because I don't like how they dried, but they mixed perfectly.
