After studying the ‘Nutshell Studies’ by Frances Glessner Lee, I was inspired to create my own ‘Study’. The subject, my room. A room is a reflection of one's own mind, and who they are. I feel my room is able to summarize who I am very well. Throughout the creation of this project, I came to realize how much I value material items. Even though claiming you’re materialistic is “trashy” and “untoward”, I still am very materialistic.
Creating the texture and dimension on the outside, was the most challenging for me. The home I live in is very old (1910), and the walls on the second story probably haven't been cleaned in over a decade. The grim and dirty look of not only he outside, but also the inside, give the piece a moody and eclectic look.
