For my piece, I wanted to create a 3D cartoon skull. I was heavily inspired by the work of Tim Burton, and specifically his movie “The Corpse Bride”. The character designs in that move has always stood out to me, and has inspired a lot of my work. I first created an aluminium ball for the armature of the piece, then built up around it using air dry clay. I found the material difficult to work with at first, but with practice, I got used to it. I think that I was very successful in this piece, and I was able to stick to my original sketch very well.
